Kraken

The creature got its name "Kraken" because in Norwegian, the root "krake" means "a malformed or overgrown, crooked tree." It was said to have multiple tentacles that were long and strong. It would hide, wait for the opportunity to attack a floating boat, and then drag it toward the bottom of the sea. Because of its enormous size, it formed a whirlpool on the sea, and everything went down with it.
